Welcome to Structures of Remembering, my reflective journal for MA Fine Art: Digital at Central Saint Martins 2026-28.

I am an interdisciplinary artist, maker, thinker and habitual question-asker. I am fascinated by the body, memory and lived experience, and by the strange and often contradictory ways we try to make sense of being human. I have a longstanding interest in philosophy and psychology, and in questions around existence, identity, time, memory and what it means to know something.

My practice is process-led and often begins with curiosity rather than an answer. I work across sculpture, installation, drawing, photography, moving image and sound, using making as a way of thinking and discovering. I am particularly drawn to repetition and multiplicity — to returning to things, making them again, and seeing what changes along the way. Casting, layering, accumulation, fragmentation and reconstruction are processes that recur throughout my work.

I also think it is important to have fun. My work can engage with difficult, complicated and deeply human experiences, but I don’t believe seriousness requires solemnity. I value play, experimentation, humour, absurdity, ambiguity, and not always knowing what I am doing or where something will lead. Although perhaps we’re all just making it up as we go along.

Structures of Remembering is a space to document that process throughout my MA: the making, reading, thinking, questioning, experiments, failures, discoveries, and inevitable tangents. At the moment, I am thinking about remembering as a process of return and exploring how lived experience might leave traces through bodies, objects and materials. I am interested in the possibility of an alternative archive — one that might accommodate absence, repetition, instability and transformation rather than attempting to hold the past still.

I don’t know exactly what that archive will become yet. That’s rather the point.
